Better Together
Better Together: A Lunchtime Dialogue Program
What happens when we make time to sit down with people we might not otherwise meet and have a real conversation?
µþ±ð³Ù³Ù±ð°ùÌý°Õ´Ç²µ±ð³Ù³ó±ð°ù, a space for connection, conversation, and bridge-building, creates space for us to reflect on this moment we are living in – together.
Join us every other Thursday starting September 24 for Better Together, the Truitt Center’s lunchtime dialogue program. Each gathering offers a chance to connect, share your perspective, hear from others, and explore a question that matters.
Students, faculty, and staff are all invited. Come as you are: curious, reflective, hungry for lunch, or simply looking for connection. There’s no expertise required and no expectation that we all agree. Just bring yourself and a willingness to be part of the conversation. And please share this invitation with your students.

This fall, we’ll gather around these topics:
September 24 | Belonging
What does belonging feel like to you? Have you ever felt like you fit in without belonging? Have you had to change yourself to fit in? And why is belonging so important to us as human beings?
October 8 | Education
How does what you study impact your humanity and your understanding of the world around you? In what ways has your major shaped your view of the world? Why is education important? And what does it mean to be educated?
October 22 | Family
What makes someone family? What do we inherit from our family other than genetics, and how do our families shape who we become? What family traditions, stories, or values have shaped you?
November 5 | Conflict
How can we disagree with someone while still honoring their humanity? What helps you stay curious when you disagree with someone? Is conflict always something to resolve, or can it sometimes be something we learn to live with?
November 19 | Mortality
How does knowing that life is finite shape the way we live? What makes a life meaningful? How do we want to be remembered? How do different religions and cultures help us understand mortality? What has loss taught you about being human?
December 3 | The Practice of Being Human
What are the practices, habits, values, and experiences that help us engage with the world with greater intention and compassion? What does it mean to you to live with purpose? What helps us remain hopeful?
Pull up a chair. Bring your questions. Join the conversation.
