Martha and Spencer Love School of Business students earn Professional Scrum Master credential

Twelve students in Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Agile Project Management course earned the Professional Scrum Master I certification, with the entire class passing the exam on their first attempt.

Twelve Martha and Spencer Love School of Business students earned the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification through Scrum.org, achieving a 100% first-time pass rate.

The students who earned the certification are:

  • Charlie Billinger
  • Maddie Cook
  • Noah Goldstein
  • Jake Kadnar
  • Oliver Keicher
  • Raiyan Khalid
  • Daire McCarthy
  • Madison Oliver
  • Ben Patterson
  • Jordan Shaf
  • Arthur Shea
  • Jackson Steiner

The internationally recognized credential demonstrates students’ understanding of the Scrum framework, an Agile approach to managing projects, collaborating across teams and responding to changing priorities. To earn the certification, students must score at least 85% on an 80-question exam.

The students completed the certification as part of Agile Project Management (MGT 3470), taught by Scott Oakes, assistant teaching professor of management. Through projects, simulations, guest speakers and practical exercises, students learn to apply Agile principles and understand the responsibilities of a Scrum Master in guiding teams through complex projects.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ is a recognized university partner of Scrum.org. The PSM I is one of two professional certifications available to students majoring in project management, alongside the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
