Katherine Poole '72 shared the story of one of her Â鶹ÊÓƵ classmates, Tom Bass '67, in a Veterans' Day guest column for the (Burlington, N.C.) Times-News in November. The column touched on Bass' service during the Vietnam War, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star and the Air Medal, and offered his advice for today's soldiers and veterans.
Bass and his wife, Sandra, both graduates Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Class of 1967, live in Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Their son, Thomas Bass III, is a 1994 Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumnus. Poole lives in Gibsonville, N.C., with her husband, Carl, a 1969 Â鶹ÊÓƵ graduate.
