2027 Intersect Conference
 January 19th, 2027 – Registration Now Open!
“Courage to Connect: Shared Stories. Shared Humanity. Shared Responsibility.”
The Center for Leadership, and the Center for Race, Ethnicity & Diversity Education are excited to invite you to the 2027 Intersect Conference on January 19th! Intersect provides a look at the disciplines of diversity, leadership, and the cross-sections of the two. For the first time ever, Intersect will be hosted during Winter Term and combined with the National Day of Racial Healing (NDRH). During Intersect + NDRH, participants will engage in dialogue and reflection through a keynote speaker and roundtable discussions. The conference pillars work to inspire participants to reflect on race and other identities with a goal to create positive change for the common good in their organizations and communities.
The Intersect Planning Committee is excited to provide the space for students, faculty, and staff to engage in these integral conversations, and we invite all members of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community to join us!
Â鶹ÊÓƵ Intersect
In accordance with Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s commitment to diversity and global engagement and the fostering of respect for human differences, the Center for Leadership, and the Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity Education have collaborated to provide attendees with an unprecedented look at the disciplines of diversity, leadership, and the cross-sections of the two. Intersect educates students, faculty, and staff on topics of diversity and leadership. In previous years, these topics were explored through two independent conferences: the Diversity Leadership Conference and the Leadership Development Institute.
During this conference, participants will engage in dialogue, reflection, and training through keynote speakers, workshops, and lunch and learns. The conference pillars work to inspire participants to create positive change for the common good in their organizations and community.
Conference Pillars
Oppression, social change, power & privilege, and organizational development are the four pillars of the Intersect Conference. These pillars were chosen because they represent the intersectionality of leadership and diversity. Our understanding of these concepts will not only inform our understanding but also our ability to engage in meaningful conversations and behaviors.
Conference Participation
Intersect is FREE for all Â鶹ÊÓƵ students, faculty, and staff. At this time, there are not available spots for those outside of Â鶹ÊÓƵ.
Volunteer for Intersect
Volunteering at the conference is great way to learn what happens behind the scenes and support Intersect! Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to volunteer. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work a 1-2 hour shift and/or lead a roundtable discussion.
