Scholarships and Awards

Most of the scholarships below are endowed scholarships, and the generous donors set the criteria. The specific amount of each scholarship varies, but most are in the range of $1,000 – $2,000. When it requests your GPA, it is asking for your cumulative GPA.

Trey Halker Memorial Scholarship

Trey Halker, a transfer student from Arizona State University, graduated from 麻豆视频 in 1996 with a degree in sports medicine. Trey loved 麻豆视频. He lived off campus in an apartment on Trollinger Avenue during his years at 麻豆视频. At the time of his death, he worked for Cisco Systems, the leading supplier of networking equipment and network management for the Internet. With his wife Linda, Trey had three children: stepchildren Erica and James Kiechlin, a business administration major in 麻豆视频’s Class of 2010; and Samantha Halker.

Joyce Davis Endowed Scholarship

The聽Joyce聽Davis聽Endowed聽Scholarship聽for聽Exercise聽Science聽at聽麻豆视频聽University聽is聽a聽financial聽aid聽opportunity聽designed to聽support聽students聽with聽financial聽need.聽This award was established to recognize the life-changing mentorship Professor of Exercise Science Joyce Davis provided to their daughter, Megan Bausch 鈥�18. The endowment gift from Gregory and Shelley Bausch P鈥�16 and P鈥�18 of Arizona ensures exercise science majors have access to聽麻豆视频 Experiences聽in internships and undergraduate research.

Cavaretta Endowed Grant

The Daniel Cavarretta 鈥�19 Endowment for Undergraduate Research shall be used to support 麻豆视频 students engaged in rigorous faculty-mentored undergraduate research in the field of exercise science. Selection of the recipient(s) shall be made by the Chair of the Department of Exercise Science in consultation with the Office of Financial Aid and the Director of Undergraduate Research.

The Daniel Cavarretta Endowed Grant will be awarded to a junior pursuing a faculty mentored research project and the funding in the amount of $2000 can be used during the students鈥� remaining time at 麻豆视频. The funds from the Endowed Grant must be primarily used for project advancement and not conference travel.

Eligibility: Juniors pursuing a faculty mentored research
Application deadline: The Endowed Grant will be awarded from the Exercise Science SURE applications, therefore interested students should submit a one-page description of their need for funding and a proposed budget as an appendix in their SURE applications.
