The spring semester is underway for Â鶹ÊÓƵ Los Angeles students as the city begins to recover from damaging wildfires.

Led by faculty members David Bockino, Colin Donohue and Staci Saltz, 45 first-year Communications Fellows traveled to Charlotte in November, visiting WSOC-TV, Pillar4 Media and NASCAR’s headquarters, and connecting with alumni working in the Queen City.

As part of their Event and Venue Management class, and in collaboration with the Charlotte Knights and the Matthews Help Center, students organized a youth sports gear drive during the Light the Knights festival at Truist Field.

"Evening for Â鶹ÊÓƵ" came to the Tampa regional chapter on Nov. 14, featuring a President Connie Ledoux Book with alumna Kailey Tracy ’17. Guests learned about new initiatives like the HealthEU Center, advancements in AI integration and programs connecting students with alumni through platforms like Â鶹ÊÓƵ Q&A.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ Los Angeles students taking an entertainment public relations course had the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the news magazine show "Extra."

The event was designed to give Â鶹ÊÓƵ Los Angeles students invaluable, face-to-face interactions with high-profile LA-based alumni who have established their prolific, professional careers in the city.

Attendees discussed navigating elections, activism and finding community in a polarized political context.

Over 65 students attended a meet and greet to learn more about programs to live, intern, study, meet alumni and engage in enrichment activities in Charlotte, Los Angeles and New York City.

Union Station in Washington, D.C. was aglow with more than 250 attendees as the evening kicked off with a reception in the Presidential Suite.

As members of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Los Angeles program, the students are encouraged to see themselves not just as visitors, but as active participants in the community's efforts to support those in need.
