Three area lawmakers toured the program’s facilities in the Gerald L. Francis Center and learned more about the role these future providers play in the health care industry.

The annual fundraiser organized by the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Physician Assistant Student Society supports the work of the Open Door Clinic.

The inaugural Healthcare Simulation Week, sponsored by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and held Sept. 11-14, celebrates global professionals who use simulation to improve the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of healthcare delivery.

Shefali Christopher, an assistant professor of physical therapy education, recent returned from Taipei where she was a member of the medical team supporting the U.S. team at the World University Games.  

The Department of Physician Assistant Studies welcomes Melissa Murfin as its new department chair and program director as of Sept. 1. 

Garrett Hoanin, class of 2017,  is participating in a Global Learning Opportunity at the Whiteriver PHS Indian Hospital and San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corp. in Arizona for his six-month final internship in the DPTE program.  

Dianne Person, director of Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Anatomical Gift Program, will present to Â鶹ÊÓƵ-Alamance Health Partner's staff on Wednesday, Aug. 23. 

Â鶹ÊÓƵ President Leo M. Lambert presented the medallion to five retired faculty and staff members for their meritorious service to the university during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized four endowed professorships and two longtime professors were named Distinguished University Professors. 

The July 12 anatomy memorial service paid tribute to those men and women who donated their bodies to science. 

Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Doctor of Physical Therapy program was represented well at the American College of Sports Medicine 2017 Conference in Denver, CO. Haley Hawkins, a 2nd year DPT student also won a travel scholarship at the Conference.
