Â鶹ÊÓƵ

Rain clouds gave way to a crystal blue sky as the 118th Commencement exercises got underway May 24, 2008, when bachelor degrees were conferred on the largest graduating class in Â鶹ÊÓƵ history.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumna Katherine Southard was named 2nd runner up this month in the 2008 Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant, two years after surgery to correct a spinal condition that threatened her heart and lungs.

Alumni, faculty and students will gather in Los Angeles June 5 to kick off the Â鶹ÊÓƵ in L.A. internship and study program. The new program offers students an inside view of the entertainment industry and opportunities to network with alumni. Alumni also will gather June 3 to launch an L.A. alumni chapter.

Members of the Class of 2008, along with their parents, grandparents and friends, have contributed more than $18,000 to the Senior Class Gift Campaign for Student Initiative Grants – money that will support students who want to organize future service opportunities.
