The chairman of USAA, one of the nation’s leading insurance and financial services companies, has advice for today’s business students: behave yourself, because those who one day work for you will follow your lead. Retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. John Moellering offered that wisdom and more on Tuesday for the 2011 “Ethics in Business” Speaker Series presented by the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.

The chairman of USAA, one of the nation’s leading insurance and financial services company, will describe ethical dilemmas he faced in the business world and how he addressed them.

�鶹��Ƶ senior Tyler West won 3rd place in the educational/instructional category of the student competition in the Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts for a four-part series of videos on the �鶹��Ƶ Academy’s “Go-4-College” program.

�鶹��Ƶ has added Octagon to the list of campus composting locations, which also includes Colonnades and Harden Dining Halls. In 2009-2010 �鶹��Ƶ diverted more than 100,000 pounds of waste from the landfill through food composting initiatives.

A team of �鶹��Ƶ researchers will examine the effects of concussions in student-athletes using a grant of nearly $17,000 awarded this month by the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

�鶹��Ƶ Director of Choral Activities Stephen A. Futrell appeared Feb. 19 as guest conductor of the Orange County High School Honor Choir.

A report authored by associate professor of psychology Mathew Gendle, Kim Glazer ’08, Liz Olszewski ’09 and University Wellness coordinator Cindy Novak has been published in the spring 2011 issue of the Journal of the North Carolina Academy of Science.

�鶹��Ƶ collected more than 9,600 pounds of material in the first week of the national RecycleMania 2011 contest and is currently in 6th place in North Carolina for the total amount saved from landfills.
