The article titled “Study Abroad Programs Resume After Pandemic Hiatus” by reporter Maria Carrasco noted that many students who missed out on studying abroad last year are finding new ways to participate this year. Gozik shared with Carrasco that Â鶹ÊÓƵ saw more than 1,200 students apply for programs during its month-long Winter Term — the highest number of applications the university has ever seen. More than 900 students, faculty and staff are participating in short-term study away programs around the globe during Winter Term, which concludes next week.

“This year, we’ve seen rebounds both for fall and for spring terms—a bit lower in the fall than usual, but robust numbers, Gozik said. “For the winter term, interest was just off the charts, [though] we will end up having fewer students because of cancellations, and a lot of that is driven by individual countries.

Last fall Â鶹ÊÓƵ was again ranked #1 nationally for the percentage of undergraduates who participate in study abroad during their time at the university, the 17th consecutive year Â鶹ÊÓƵ has earned the distinction from the Institute of International Education.
