Â鶹ÊÓƵ Pi Kappa Phi chapter earns national honor

The Epsilon Alpha chapter of Pi Kappa Phi at Â鶹ÊÓƵ recently won the Mixson Award, presented annually to the fraternity’s top national chapter on campuses with less than eight NIC fraternities. This is the third time the Â鶹ÊÓƵ chapter has received the award. Pictured at right are Josh Donde, treasurer of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ chapter of Pi Kappa Phi, and Mark Timmes, chief executive officer of Pi Kappa Phi national headquarters.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Epsilon Alpha chapter has 79 members, making Pi Kappa Phi the largest fraternity on campus. In 2005-06, the Â鶹ÊÓƵ chapter initiated more than 90 percent of its associate members. The chapter has a cumulative 3.2 grade point average.

The Â鶹ÊÓƵ chapter is active in several philanthropic and community service projects. Last year, the chapter raised almost $6,000 for Push America, the fraternity’s national philanthropic effort.

The Mixson Award is named for one of the three founding fathers of Pi Kappa Phi.
