Della Cotten Scott ’24 turned 100 years old Sunday, Oct. 13, and she has simple advice for anyone who wants to live a long life. “If you want to live to be 100, go to Â鶹ÊÓƵ and get a good education!”
Mary Ruth, director of alumni and parent relations, had lunch at Della’s home in Â鶹ÊÓƵ Oct. 8 and presented her with an Â鶹ÊÓƵ afghan on behalf of the Alumni Association.
A former public school teacher, Della remains alert and healthy. A special celebration was held Oct. 13 at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Community Church Parish House, immediately following the worship service.
Anyone wishing to send birthday greetings to Della can mail them to Mrs. Della Scott, P.O. Box 125, Â鶹ÊÓƵ, N.C. 27244.
